The Art of Summer

Ahhh, I really enjoyed that last bit of summer; I hope you did too!  I did quite a bit of art, but didn't take the time to post it- I'll make up for it now that the back-to-school rush has subsided.

Here's today's art - a slightly tardy Summer Postcard swap for Lena Andrews.   If you're thinking of jumping into swaps, she always has one going, and makes it very easy.

How lovely is she?!  I've been working on my photoshop skills, so I used the swap to practice my layers - there was something like 12 in there.   The art is from Studio Tangie, and I feel a bit of a cheat not drawing and coloring it in myself.   But on the other hand, I supported a fellow artist by buying her png files, and the composition is all me.   It's hard to see on the scan, but I used Tsukneko shimmer spritz to give it a gorgeous ethereal sparkle, and Stickles on the blue dots for more bling.
(as always, click to enlarge)
The back is just a quick bit of Word and an old postcard graphic, pasted to the front because I worried that the cardstock alone was too floppy for the USPS machines.

I did a little quick mail art on the envelope for Lena.... only takes a couple of minutes, and I'm sure it's more fun for Lena to receive it decorated than a boring old manilla envelope.

Leave a comment if you receive this ~ it's so interesting to see where swaps land!
